About Allie Sockolov

I’m Allie Sockolov, an educational consultant, parent advocate, and mom of two young boys. I understand the daily realities of juggling school demands, home life, and everything in between. I’ve spent my career supporting children with disabilities and the families who love them.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked in special education classrooms, participated in some of the most complex and emotionally charged IEP meetings, and supported families in children’s hospital settings as they navigated an often overwhelming system. I’ve seen firsthand how confusing, intimidating, and isolating the special education process can feel — especially while managing the realities of everyday life at home.

I hold a Master of Science in Special Education and a B.A. in Communications, which allows me to combine educational expertise with clear, compassionate communication and parent support.

My approach is calm, practical, and deeply parent-centered. I believe families deserve clear information, honest guidance, and support that truly helps in day-to-day life — not just paperwork and meetings. I work alongside parents to translate educational language into real next steps and build strategies that support both their child and their family as a whole.

My goal is simple: to help families feel supported, informed, and confident as they navigate special education and everyday life, knowing they don’t have to do it alone.

FAQs

Common Questions

Do you work in my state?

Yes, I can help parents in all 50 states. Majority of IEP struggles are rooted in Federal Law that governs all states. If I need to reference anything specific for your state, I will do so and I have resources in all states to support any state specific questions.

Do you attend IEP meetings?

Yes, I can attend IEP meetings. However, my goal is to give you all the tools you need to be the voice for your child. My role at the IEP table is to support you and make sure your voice is heard, requests are respected, and proper decisions are made.

Do you give legal advice?

I’m not a lawyer and I do not give legal advice. I can absolutely use the foundation of the law to support you, your IEP requests, and help you negotiate for an appropriate IEP for your child.
